Peru dish …Guinea Pig!

I am in a place others dream to be. For some people is just their home, and they never knew it any better. I am in the town of Machu Picchu. Exhausted after the long flight and train ride, I finally checked into the hotel I booked. Let’s rewind the hotel part. Accidentally, in hurry to book the hotel, I instead booked a hostel room. I had never been in a hostel before, and when I arrived there I almost had a heart attack!I was afraid to open the door to my room, as I thought it might fall off. After finally mustering up the courage to enter the room, I got shivers down my spine looking at the bed and the toilet. It was a very dark and gloomy room. You could see through the door, the hallway outside, and the smell of the shower was unbearable.
I looked around, dropped my back pack on the chair and started laughing hysterically. I thought how bad could it be to sleep there? it was only for one night. To gain more clarity I thought to first find a good place to eat then decide what to do next.I went out of my room and in my head, I kept hearing my brother’s voice,
“if you are in Peru you must taste their specialty, Guinea Pig.”  Why not? I thought, and went out to try that. I was too tired, too hungry and too shocked to think straight. I sat at a table in a beautiful restaurant with an absolutely amazing view and confidently ordered the city’s specialty, the Guinea Pig. The owner come to me confirm if I wanted that and I wondered why was he asking. I was hungry, I just wanted my food. While I happily waited for my lunch at the balcony, I saw my new friend, a girl I had met on the train while coming here. I immediately called her up to have lunch with me. By the time she arrived, my food was served on the table. I was a bit shocked of the appearance but I decided to give it a try since I was so hungry. Elizabeth looked at me horrified while I gulped down the delicacy. She then asked me if I knew what I was eating. I told her yes. Then she reconfirmed if I knew that a Guinea Pig is actually a mouse. I almost threw up on the table when she showed me the picture of what I had happily swallowed!I thought to myself, can the day go any better than this?
